# Flaky Tests: Test Cases API response updates

> The v2 Test Cases API now returns label provenance, monitor activation timestamps, and how long a test has been in its current status.

**The v2 Test Cases API response shape has changed. If you consume it, review the updates below before your next deploy.**

## What's new

* **Label provenance.** Each label on a test case now includes a `sources[]` array showing everything that applied it (a user, a monitor, and so on), folded into one entry per label. A new top-level `assignedAt` on the label reflects the earliest of those sources.
* **`ActiveMonitor.activeSince`.** Each active monitor watching a test now reports when it started watching, so you can tell how long a monitor has been in play without cross-referencing other endpoints.
* **`TestCaseSummary.statusSince`.** Test case summaries now include how long the test has been in its current status. It's `null` for tests no monitor has ever classified.
* **`403 INSUFFICIENT_PERMISSIONS`** is now documented on `GET /v2/test-cases` and `GET /v2/test-collections` so you can handle it explicitly alongside the existing error codes.

## Breaking change on labels

The `Label` object no longer includes `color` or `createdAt`. If your integration reads either field, switch to `sources[]` for attribution and `assignedAt` for timing. Label colors still exist in **Settings → Test Labels** and are unaffected in the UI.
